Homework: 
about one problem set for each unit (for list of units, see web site); due as announced (in general, one week after we are done with the corresponding material). You will receive 50% credit for late homework.

Tests:  There will be a test following each homework set. Each test will be based on homework, closed book, in class, and last 30'. Exact dates will be announced in class, generally a few days after the corresponding homework set is due. 
Attendance: 
Attendance and participation in class discussions are expected. Participation includes taking notes, asking and answering questions, going over your notes after class, and asking further questions until everything is clear. 
Grade: 
40% homework; 40% tests, 20% participation.
