Textbook: Sean M. Carroll, Spacetime and Geometry - An Introduction to General Relativity (Addison Wesley)
Homework: due as announced (in general, 1-2 weeks after we are done with the corresponding material). Half credit for late submission. You need to do 75% of the homework for full credit (or 50% if you also do a project).
Project:

You may do a project on a topic of your choice (selected after consultation with the Instructor), write a short paper on it and present it in class at the end of the semester. This is not meant to be original work. You just need to understand a certain subject described in one of the recommended textbooks (see web site for a list) and not covered in class or in a research paper you happen to be interested in. If you do a project, you need only do 50% of the homework.
Grade: Based on 75% of homework, or 50% of homework + project.
